Archive MIAK`s Conference in Congress Hotel | 10.07.2007
On July 11th MIAK held a conference on the topic of “Constitution:
Theory and Political Reality.” It was
attended by political figures, famous lawyers, representatives of NGOs,
students and journalists.
The main speakers at the conference were the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly Mr. David Haroutyunyan and Ombudsman Mr. Armen Haroutyunyan. The speakers addressed the Armenian Constitution and the role and meaning of introduced amendments. They also analyzed positive implications and drawbacks of the Constitution and expressed opinions as to the real impact of the Constitution on the process of resolving the challenges posed in front of the country. The presentations were followed by an active question and answer session and extensive discussions on various aspects of the Constitution. The conference was widely covered by the Armenian mass media. |
