Dear MIAK members, below
please find the interview with MIAK member Emma Sahakyan.
-How
long have you been a MIAK member?
-For about two months.
-What peculiarity do you see in MIAK?
-The
first peculiarity is the principle of internal democracy, which is rather
praiseworthy in itself. The second peculiarity is a fact that you get to meet
new people here, who can enrich you with new knowledge that you can apply in
your life.
-What
novelty would you suggest to MIAK`s work style?
-Probably to better inform the public about MIAK`s activities.
-If you become RA President what would be your
first step?
-I would probably start taking steps aimed at bringing forward economic
development. I would make more use of Armenia's natural resources and export
them if possible. This would provide for the state budget revenues. I would
also nationalize certain enterprises and would definitely not sell them. I would
also try to reduce the number of monopolies, which will allow for the development
of entrepreneurship in Armenia.
-What would you like to
change in Armenia?
-I would like to change people's self-consciousness and low quality programmes
we see on Armenian TV with a focus on journalists who do not have the relevant education
and good Armenian speech.
-Please,
answer the question of the previous interviewee: What is your opinion on
women's participation in Armenian political life?
-I think that not only is womens
presence in political field desirable but it is also necessary. Women too could
be good managers and provide for innovative ideas. I hope that the number of
women in politics will increase gradually.
