As a result of the activities conducted within the framework of the first stage of the Spread out Program, nine territorial offices were set up in the Armenian marzes.

On July 24^th an informal meeting took place in MIAK headquarters.  The participants of the meeting were representatives of the nine regional offices and Yerevan.  The meeting was to present the activities of the MIAK Secretariat and Statutory Committee, organize the regional activities, analyze marz problems and find possible solutions.  The meeting was organized for the first time and enabled the regional representatives to meet each other.

MIAK Secretary General Ara Hovsepyan welcomed all those present and expressed his confidence with the positive direction of activities especially as the representatives of the marzes expressed their readiness to hard work with political activities on the regional level.

Whilst answering questions the Secretary, Levon Martirosyan, noted that MIAK will initiate the preparation of programmes for country development with assurances that a special stress will be made on the regions.

Ideological Secretary Gerasim Barseghyan assured that MIAK has occupied a unique and irreplaceable position in the political field of Armenia, since it is an acting organisation with realistic goals. 

External Relations and PR Secretary Naira Karapetyan encouraged those present to actively cooperate with local NGOs at the same time keeping in mind MIAK's programmes and ideology.   It was also mentioned that one of MIAK`s unique features is its internal democracy which translates into initiative-based work on behalf of marz structures. 

Chairman of the Statutory Committee Karen Matevosyan mentioned once again, that a great portion of attention should be paid to internal law observance and accurate paper work.

Since this was the initial meeting it was decided to conduct similar more frequent events.
