On December 1st 2007 during II Extraordinary
Congress which took place in Gyumri, MIAK made a decision to support the
candidacy of Serzh Sargsyan during the upcoming presidential election by
bringing 10 reasons for supporting presidential candidate and 10 expectations
MIAK had from him.

Remaining loyal to its announcement to be
actively involved in political developments in the country, MIAK members and
supporters make active visits to our fellow citizens within the framework of
Door-to-Door initiative by passing them informational materials summarizing
MIAK`s decisions, as well as trying to make the issues of concern and
approaches of our citizens vocal in front of appropriate bodies of local and
state authorities.

On January 26th within the scope
of the pre-election campaign, the representatives of MIAK and Hope youth
movement involved in Door-to-Door programme met with the presidential candidate
Serzh Sargsyan. Serzh Sargsyan expressed
his gratitude for supporting him and gave high evaluation to MIAK implemented
Door-to-Door program.

All representatives of this generation
realize pretty well that if Serzh Sargsyan manages to implement all ideas and
programs mentioned in his pre-election program, the youth will be the first to
benefit from them. “It will be them who
will live in more secure and prosperous country, it will be them who will live
in more free and democratic country in accordance with European standards, it
will be them who will have increased
opportunities in their country,” announced MIAK Board Member Levon
Martirosyan during the meeting with the presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan.
MIAK`s ultimate goal is introducing
positive changes to our life. MIAK has
one expectation from the presidential election, namely the fact that the
country receives opportunity to move in the direction of substantial
changes. We find that Serzh Sargsyan has
enough political will and vision to follow this path.

MIAK Secretary General Samvel Farmanyan
mentioned, “We announced that we would be active in all political processes and
we would do so. We announced that we
came into politics and would stay there forever, announced that Armenia cannot
move forward in the modern world without the involvement and participation of
our generation. We have sufficient
capacities and decisiveness to follow the path of turning Armenia into
secure and prosperous country.” He thanked partner structures, people working
on sites and program administrative and technical staff for effective
work.

“You can only have two consolations in your
hard work. First is that I will never do
things for which you can be reproached. Second and most important is that you
will also benefit from everything you do, since we will all have prosperous
lives in Armenia and will be able to say that we were the soldiers of this
country and had active participation in its establishment,” mentioned Serzh
Sargsyan at the same time thanking everyone for their support.

presented RA presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan with a uniform made for
Door-to-Door program volunteers. |
