MIAK Founding Congress
took place in the Marriott Armenia hotel
on February 18th and was
attended by delegates from Yerevan and a number of
Armenian marzes. The Congress decided to
found the United Liberal National Party,
adopt the party Charter and approve its Programme. The party’s governing bodies, namely the Board,
Secretariat, Supervisory and Statutory Committees were elected.

Following the
Congress the newly elected MIAK Board had its first session, during which,
according to the order defined by the MIAK Charter the members of the Secretariat elected the MIAK Secretary
General. Levon Martirosyan was elected
in this position for a one year term.
