During the period of August 21-September 1, the youth gathering was organized in the framework of South Caucasus Political Dialogue by Konrad Adenauer foundation. It was developed for the young politicians and journalists of South Caucasus countries, namely Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. The gathering was composed of three parts: training, meetings, and elections and took place in the German cities of Dusseldorf, Bonn, and Cologne. 

Armenia was represented by the MIAK PR Secretary Naira Karapetyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Republican Party of Armenia youth wing Martha Simonyan, Chairperson of Rule of Law Party youth wing Arthur Misakyan, Press Secretary of the Minister of Culture and independent journalist Anoush Mkrtchyan and "Azatutyun" radio station journalist Emil Danielyan.  

The training was conducted by the Program Directors of "Deutsche Welle" Academy Udo Prenzel and Eberhard Sucker in Konrad Adenauer foundation training center. The academic part was divided according to the target groups. Politicians received mass media communication skills, while the journalists learned how to take interviews and conduct press conferences. After presenting the material, actual interviews and press conferences were conducted and put forward for professional discussion. To the pride of MIAK, we had the best responses. 

The delegate of regional parliament Liza Winkelmeier-Becker told young people about the carrier opportunities for young women in German Christian Democratic Union, as well as about the advantages and challenges of delegate’s work. 

During the meeting with the German Minister of Economic Development Mario Urban and Head of South Caucasus and Central Asia Department of the same ministry Frederick Gaul, young people asked many questions with regard to the cooperation with their countries, as well as expressed interest as to the successes of the young employees of the Ministry. 

The Executive Director of TNS Media and Social Research Association Klaus-Peter Schoeppner presented the proper way of applying social research in political life, as well as the reflection of political orders and image PR in mass media. 

The young politicians of South Caucasus region were extremely encouraged by the parliament meeting with the Press Secretary of Christian Democratic Union Achim Hermes. The questions with regard to the party activities, external relations and mass media communication were asked and answered.  

The responsible person of South Caucasus Broadcasting of "Deutsche Welle" Ingo Mannteufel expressed hope that in the near future both television and radio broadcasting of "Deutsche Welle" will be established in Armenia. 

Program participants visited Konrad Adenauer`s house in the city of Saint Augustin and saw the things and presents belonging to him. The participants were impressed by the picture painted by Winston Churchill. 

On August 30 there took place elections of the regional parliament, as well as local government (mayors) of German NordRhyne Westfalia state. The program participants enjoyed the opportunity of following the pre-election battle in the cities of Bonn, Cologne etc. They also visited Bonn election sites on the Election Day and observed the Elections process. After the voting was finished the participants had a chance to observe votes` counting and presentation process in a hall furnished specifically for urgent communications purpose in one of the city hall wings.
