There are Festivals that come from the depths of the time and comprise the people’s faith, Traditions and special national features.
Vardavar ( Transfiguration, Brilliance) is one of the most favorite, joyful and noteworthy holidays in Armenia which is now celebrated 98 days after the Easter. It is a nature- worshipping feast germinated in far-away millenniums.
In pagan Armenia this holiday was dedicated to Astghik: the goddess of love and beauty, who would spread love around, along with roses and rose water.
After adopting Christianity the Armenian church replaced this feast with the Transfiguration feast. You are welcome to take part in this "Festival of Roses", which is accompanied with joyful songs, dances and water-sprinkling games.
For Armenians is not only festival in the literal sense of the word, it is the way of life, philosophy that connects the Armenian with the past, the present and the future, that leads a man to his roots, gives the feeling of cycling events .
