The US Congress approves the Armenian Genocide resolution
04.03.2010
04.03.10 the US House of
Foreign Affairs Committee with 23 votes for and 22 against affirmed the
H.Res.252 concerning the Armenian Genocide Resolution.
Before the voting the
Congressmen had hot discussions. They were proving their disposition of being
for or against the Resolution.
It's worth mentioning that all the speakers recognized the crime of the Ottoman
Turkey realized against the Armenians in 1915 as Genocide. Those who voted
against explained their decision by the wrong choice of the time or the place. They
were concerned with the worsening of the Turkish - American strategic
relations.
