Ara Hovsepyan Secretary
Ara Hovsepian was born on February 11th  1974 in Yerevan.


In 1990-1995 he studied in the State V. BrussovLinguistic University and received a diploma in linguistics and social studies.

Subsequently  he received a Master’s degree in political science and international relations from the American University in Armenia.

During 1998-1999 he studied in England at Oxford University, Exeter College,  where he received a post-graduate diploma in international relations and diplomacy.

 

In 1995-2000 he was employed in the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

In 2000-2006 he  was Head of the DFID Armenia office. During this period he spent one year in the London DFID office occupying the position of Assistant to the Director and  Divisional Coordinator for Europe, the Middle East and Americas.

 

Since 2006 to date he  is the  CEO of the Millennium Challenge.

He has participated in a number of academic and professional training programmes, including “Interest-Based Negotiation” at Cambridge University, “Leaders in Development” at Harvard University, and “Business Executive and Leadership” at the  Central Eurasia Leadership Academy (CELA) in Istanbul.

Along with his professional development activities he has been actively involved in social activities  being the founder of a number of non-governmental organizations, including the British Alumni association.

He is married.
